Cancelled Services to Trim Expenses
Cancelled Services to Trim Expenses
When I am looking to save some money easily, I check for unneeded expenses. I find it helpful to see the subscriptions you have in one place in case there are some you may have forgotten you have. There are apps to help you find subscriptions you have and keep track of them.
I was subscribing to a streaming service, but we were barely using it. I bought an antenna instead, so we were able to cancel the streaming service and save some money! We also buy a lot of movies on sale during Black Friday, so we watch the hundreds of movies we have instead of watching them on a platform I have to pay for monthly. Here is me holding one we recently bought and enjoyed.

Mission Response:
There are so many streaming and subscription services out there, it can be overwhelming and hard to keep up with what you’re spending and on what service. Brittany did a great job reviewing her subscriptions and deciding where she could make adjustments. Consider other “extra” expenses like gym memberships, magazines and other recurring expenses. If you do not have a spending plan in place to track money coming in and going out, now is a great time to set one up. Check out this worksheet to get started and learn more in our Money Ready 101: Budget section. Like Brittany, decide if you are really using the service and if there is a less expensive option available.
